Isma is a science communication graduate with a profound background in Oceanography and more than four years of professional experience in documentary filmmaking research, productions and science communication focused on natural history, science and environmental storytelling.

She’s collaborated with international brands and film projects. To date, she’s filmed for New Scientist UK. Conducted research, scriptwriting, and worked as part of the production team of a campaign film for Eiger Adventure, Indonesia's largest outdoor brand. She also filmed behind-the-scenes and promotional content for feature films with Visinema Pictures and Adhya Pictures. Her short documentary "Beneath the Blue" (2023) has been screened at prominent venues like the National Maritime Museum in London.​

Beyond filmmaking, her academic and research accomplishments are well-documented, with publications on oceanography and visual imagery in respected scientific journals, as well as presentations at related conferences.

 

Isma’s hands-on camera skills, strong visual sense, and ability to weave together interviews and facts while connecting different thoughts and imaginations reflect her passion for purpose-driven storytelling. Combined with her scientific background, these qualities make her a leader in bridging the gap between science and the public through engaging and impactful visual media.
